I like the composition with the shoreline pointing to the buildings in a curve. The post-processing is also well done where the buildings are standing well out from the background. The persons give a sense of calmness and harmony to the image. |

This is a picture of my liking. The natural spotlight in the middle gives beautiful shadows. My eyes move from the sky to the ground and back again. There is such good harmony between the two. I have no suggestions for improvement. |

I guess you had a lot of fun preparing and shooting this picture. My first impression was that this is from a fairytale. There is a lot of drama in this picture, the black logs in the foreground and the fence in the background ad to that. You have chosen a low camera point that works well.
My only suggestion for improvement is to darken green grass in front and behind the cabin and the treetops, plus the front of the chimney. Maybe lower the light from inside just a bit, I think that would make it more natural. |

I like the composition and the low angle. It is a calming picture and that I think is the reason for so many people have liked it. To me, it looks like it is burned out both in the sky above horizon and in the reflection in the water. This is difficult to handle in post-processing. I agree with Ying and David that in this case, the color version is better. |

Thank you for all the feedback on my photo. I agree that the doorways could be visible, but the ground was full of cars and unwanted objects, so it was an impossible task to clean up. |

An interesting scene with great contrasts. You have already done some cropping, but I still feel that it has too many details. I donĂ‚´t know if would work, but you could try to crop it to 16:9, removing the top, and see what it looks like. Also, try a slight vignetting to get focus into the middle. |

The situation is well captured with the person pondering about his destiny. The white spots on the car take attention from the person, so I suggest to crop above the personĂ‚´s head and darken the wheel. |

A very well done picture, Ying! You have taken a rather average picture into fine art. The composition is very strong with the repeating dots making a diagonal line from left to right. I admire the way you have smoothen and darken the water and kept the bird and the white spots white and crisp. Could you please tell us how you have processed the picture? |

Italia has a lot of impressive cathedrals, indeed. The exposure is good and the symmetry is right. Here are my suggestions for improvement:
The sepia tone gives a feeling of something old as you mention, but this is from present and I think that pure black and white would work better. Cropping into the arches on both sides would give more focus on the main object. If you had tilted the camera slightly or better lift it higher, the arch at the top would be complete. The area at the altar is too dark, using the Brush tool would help you out. The person in front of the altar is clearly a tourist and disturb the quietness of the people sitting on the benches. You could try to remove her by using the Spot healing brush. The white band at the bottom should be cropped out.
The picture is not bad, but it has a potential to be better. |

You cathed the decisive moment here, David. A good tonal range from dark to light and plenty of grey tones. 1/640s was not quite enough to freeze the movements completely. With a combination of a higher ISO and bigger aperture, you could go to 1/1000s that would have made it complete sharp. The arms and the leg looks strangely dark. It is not so apperent on the colour photo, but I think you should dodge it a bit. All in all, a good action picture! |
