Hi Bill, Thank you for your comments. I have hand-painted, using Dodge and Burn in PS. To give you an example, the fence poles are dodged one by one. |

A stunning image, Richard! I think I would call it "Life in Death Walley" since there is a lot of life in this picture. I like the distinct layers of depth and your use of light to place the attention where you want it. |

Bill, I like your original composition. It expresses the mood on a beach with people enjoying wading in the water a beautiful evening. You can lean back and wish you were one of those persons. If I should give any suggestions for improvement, it would be to lighten the shoreline of the sea, remove the lights from the car on the beach and darken the sky slightly. |

I love Iceland, I have been there twice and would like to go there again one day. Most has already been said about this image. Just let me say that the cropping improved the picture a lot as it was too crowded in the original one. In addition, I would darken the light area in the middle, as it takes attention from the houses. |

I like your original composition best. To me, it looks a bit overexposed. I think it would be more appealing by darkening some areas like the green grass to the right and the dark areas all over the image. |

A moody skyline image. I love long exposure photography and I think 4,5 minutes is a good choice here. I agree with the others about cropping the sea slightly. In addition, I would tone down the yellow window to the right as it takes too much attention. |

I like the composition and replacing the sky was a great improvement. Luminar 4 does a fantastic job here.
My suggestion for improvement is to darken the dark points on the mountain on the left side and slightly the trees in the wood. This will give more balance and make it more interesting. |

Hi Larry,
Thank you for your positive feedback. I used Photoshop for both sky replacement and B&W conversion. The rich blacks and clear whites, as you describe it, is achieved by the Dodge and Burn Tool in PS. |

Thank you, Bill. Yes, I think it is a good idea to use a straight angle to the object. It makes the object more powerful. |

I like the composition with the triangle formed by the pots and the head. It also has a lot of repetition of forms. My suggestions for improvement is to focus more on the main object by cropping slightly on both sides and darken the background. |

A well composed image. I have been in the area, and I love Brunello de Montalcino!
I agree with Ata about the grain and use of camera settings. To me, the haze is OK in this case since that is how this area is and it gives a good depth of field. |

A well-composed picture with a lot of action. It is a matter of taste but to me, it is a bit too contrasty, especially to the lower left. |

I agree with you that B&W gives the flower more attention. You have done a very good job on the masking and the conversion to black and white. It would be fine if you could tell us a little about what you have done in the post-processing.
If I should have a small pick, it looks like the stalk is cut off on the middle. A little cloning would solve this. |
