36 Nov 18 Comment It pays off to be an early bird! Just beautiful with fantastic texture, warm colors and a low light. Definitely worthy to be on a wall!

I think I would cropped away the tip on the right side. It would given a better ending and the halos are a bit distracting.

Did you try with longer shutter speed?

36 Nov 18 Comment My eyes went straight to the sails of the boat and then compared the colors of the sky. These two play very well together. To me the two other boats are Ok as they are. The tank ship I think I would cloned away since it contradicts to the peaceful mood. Nov 12th
36 Nov 18 Comment Beautiful autumn colors in different lights.

It is not easy to simulate fog in a truthfully way, but you have succeeded rather well My only pick is that the line between the clear wood in the foreground and the foggy part too sharp on the left side. On the right side it is OK since there is a distance.

36 Nov 18 Comment A good example of HDR. The morning light is very well captured. I has a high dynamic range, but it is not overdone. This is a picture for the wall! Nov 12th
36 Nov 18 Comment Hi Bill, I like the posture of the bird; a grey day and noting happens. Standing behind a tree with the head down.

It is a foggy day, but I agree with Hattie´s proposal, it gives the image more depth. Good composition.

36 Nov 18 Comment A well captured image, Le. To me it is slightly overexposed. I think the colors would come more out with less luminance. Since the sky does not add much, I would cropped it almost down to the tree on the right side. A slight darkening of the foreground would given more attention to the beautiful reflections in the water.
I have also darkened and given some clarity the mountains.

36 Nov 18 Comment Thank you Hattie, for your sincere comments. To a certain point I agree with you, so I tried out some new adjustments were I used the all comments I have got. This is the good thing of having a group like this were we can make ourselves better.

It is important for me to keep the path as a leading line into the waterfall, so I could not crop more on the right side. I used dodge and burn in PS instead of LR adjustments and it seems to work better. I also used a Vibrance adjustment layer to enhance the colors slightly.

36 Nov 18 Comment Thank you, Bill. I worked quite a lot with the whites, both the water and the sky. When darkening the water, the dark spots became very apparent, so this was a middle way. The sky is blown out, so when trying to darkening it, one get this ugly black/gray thing. I therefor decided to keep it as shown.

If somebody has a solution for these situations, I would like to know. Bracketed exposure could have saved it, but I did not do that in this occasion.

74 Nov 18 Reply Hi Stephen. Thank you for your comment. The town is on the Greek side, close to Paphos on the west coast. Nov 28th
74 Nov 18 Comment Thank you, all of you, for the comments. After having read the comments and looked at it again, I have cropped it a bit on the left side. Personally I am not so concerned about the straightening of the building, but this a difference of opinion. Even big photographers have different attitudes to this matter. I don't mean that buildings and lines should not be straightened, but it is not necessary to straighten completely. Nov 25th
74 Nov 18 Comment A piece of a well crafted picture. The story is very clear: the Medal of Honor soldier has got a honor grave, above and in a distance to the other graves. You have succeeded in separating this grave from the others both by lighting and using the right aperture. A bigger or smaller would not given the same effect. Nov 12th
74 Nov 18 Comment One good thing with having a members from all over the world is that we become acquainted with new habits and cultures. As David so well expresses it; we feel being part of the painting. The composition with the hand and the brush in an angle makes a leading line to the motive.

If you should do it again I would suggested to highlight the area around the brush and fade out to the edges. Good idea and well done, Sibani.

74 Nov 18 Comment An interesting technique and a very special result. I haven't seen anything like this before. A very big difference from the original to the final result. Nov 12th
74 Nov 18 Comment Ansel Adams came to my mind at the first glance. Well composed and a quiet mood. I am glad you haven't fallen for the temptation to put on more contrast. Well done, Bill. Nov 12th
74 Nov 18 Comment You have done very well with this image, Angela, and you have done the right thinking to get this fantastic variety of black and white and shades of grey. The reflection in the midle brings it up to a high level image.

My only pick is a bit busy foreground. You could try to crop from the bottom. The bush on the right side I think you can clone away fairly easy, the ones on the left are more tricky. You should not push the contrast any further, in fact, I think you could back off the contrast of the clouds slightly.

A picture you proudly should put on the wall!
