Nice work Jerry. The background is great. The sharpening could be toned down on the pouch under the neck and the open mouth. The first place my eye goes is to the mouth - and I should be looking in his eyes instead. Congratulations on that new lens! I'm envious! :)

I agree totally about the lighting. The tree absolutely glows - and that is the part of the image to focus on. I like Marti's crop. |

This is a pretty scene with lots to look at. I agree with Joe that perhaps blurring the background - including the hedge - would focus more attention on the fountain. I feel also that the foreground could be darkened a bit. The brightest image of your HDR has brightened the rose bushes too much, and the nice highlights and shadows have been lost. Alternatively, crop the rose bushes about half way up, or more, to direct the eye to the fountain. I've been trying to learn how to do luminance masking in Lightroom, and this would be a great image to work with - essentially just dodging and burning for more dynamic range. |

Nice capture Joe. I like Marti's changes because the lantern is more visible and becomes the center of interest. Great shadows!

This image really attracts my attention with its bright colors and Southwest theme. I do like what Joe did to bring more focus to the door/cactus subject and reduce the impact of the window. I think maybe you could select the glass in the window and darken it so that it recedes into the background a bit. |
