I agree with Jerry. Move the cactus a little off center. I like the color and filters you used.

Wow you really captured this guy! It's amazing how his eye now has detail that I couldn't see in the original, and the texture really pops. Your post processing, including the black and white conversion, has really made all the difference. Good work! |

This also works well as black and white.

Yes I agree with that. It's just that my eye keeps wanting to see into that burst :)

I agree about the saturation. I prefer the lighter. |

I like this crop - really emphasizes the butterflies. |

Thanks for the good suggestions. I think the tree trunks are a little too bright and maybe distracting. And I agree - the house might do well with more of the clarity filter or something like that for emphasis. The horizon though is a little hard to judge with the land fading into the water. So I'm not sure about that. |

Yes I agree - the Depth Blur Filter really helped the flower stand out from the background. After I read your explanation here, I played with the filter, but I sure did not get the good results that you did. I'm going to have to learn more about that! |

I think you could crop this a number of ways. If it were mine, I'd come in quite a bit closer to really focus on the monarchs. Your colors are very nice and soft, and you've separated your subjects from the background well. Pretty picture! |

Nice effect. You don't often see just a single fireworks burst like this. I'd like to see it cropped a little closer, and maybe brightened a bit.

I love these dunes too. I think they need more contrast though. Joe has helped with that, but I don't really like the flip. I think the angle of your shot gives a great view of the sculpted sand, and the high contrast creates a very dramatic scene. Well done. |
