Joe, in looking at other of my pear images, it definitely adds a better "vibe" to have the stems all more or less pointing to the others. |

This is a pretty shot with the bright blue sky and colorful chutes. I agree with Jerry on your technique. Particularly about the shutter speed and depth of field having a negative effect on the ISO - which impacts the noise. Blue skies tend to be noisy anyway. The sensor spots are in your original, but other artifacts have been created that detract from your image. |

The rules are - there are no rules! So in my view you didn't overstep. I think it's very creative. Needs to be viewed from a distance though, to get the best effect. This was a lot of work Jerry, but obviously a labor of love. Wonder what it would look like if you colorized her??
I am totally amazed at the variety of images by our group this month!!

I really like how you enhanced the vegetation - both foreground and background. And Joe's interpretation enhances it further, which I like also. Cropping one side or the other will put the dog slightly off center which may be more pleasing. This image tells a story that most of us will never see. Good eye!

I like what Joe has done to your image. It is a little washed out and needs some "pop", and removal of the pipes helps focus attention on the women. So you are the one driving the Cat I assume. And does Spey Chics refer to fly fishing??

Very, very creative Joe! I think your color combinations are extremely effective and really make the whole thing pop. I think your method is much, much nicer than some of the artificial ways we create abstracts, such as with the PS swirls, etc. It's beautiful!

Joe, the stems were definitely an issue when I was arranging the composition. I'm not sure there is a right answer, but this set up seemed to look better than others to me. Also, I had tried a cut pear and that was problematic in how to make it visible. It is a work in progress for sure!

I really like this effect. I haven't done anything with Neural Filters yet, but it looks very interesting. The frostiness is nice, and I suppose you could brush it off where you don't want it. I think the positioning of the pumpkin is fine. I'm wondering about the little circular spots on the big pumpkin. Is that caused by the dirt that was there, or was that caused by removal of the dirt with a brush? |
