22 Jun 20 Comment This is such a typical west Texas scene. You have really conveyed the feeling of desolation. I do think something needs to be done to the sky. Marti's is very nice but a little too blue. Al's is more suitable to the time of day. To my eye, the windmill seems to be pointing us to the distant hills - a nice touch! Jun 12th
22 Jun 20 Comment Joe I like your Soft Sunrise version with the lighter vignette. My first thought was that you needed to lighten the shadows to bring out detail on the ATV, but after seeing Al's version, that makes it all about the ATV and not so much about that mood that you have set. I love the soft coloring that you got out of Topaz. Topaz offers so many choices that it can be confusing, but I like what you have done. Jun 12th
22 Jun 20 Comment Kaylyn, you live in a part of this country where the scenery is spectacular, and you make the most of it. This is a gorgeous image! I think your edits are spot on, and the scene is natural, not overdone. Your composition perfectly positions that pine in the foreground. I'm like Marti regarding the big dead tree that Joe took out. I feel that it improves the overall look and removes a big distraction, but nature is often messy, and I'm not sure how much we should try to improve it. Jun 12th
22 Jun 20 Reply Joe, what do you mean by cropping with Content Aware selected? Jun 12th
22 Jun 20 Comment Beautiful shot Marti. It's almost like a flower arrangement - a corsage. Nice starburst effect. I like what Joe has done to it too. Jun 12th
22 Jun 20 Reply Sadly, some day this scene will be gone. They are building commercial stuff all around it, and probably sooner rather than later, this little plot of land will be sold and developed as well. Jun 8th
22 Jun 20 Reply Yes I think it would help to get lower. I had tried getting lower and shooting through some taller yellow flowers, but couldn't get a look that I liked. Jun 8th
22 Jun 20 Reply Yes! Jun 8th
22 Jun 20 Reply That's interesting Marti! Still a little dark though. Jun 6th
22 Jun 20 Comment Yes, I think you have captured the story well. You have a good eye to spot this. I do like the title - it says it all!! Good job! Jun 4th
22 Jun 20 Comment Beautiful shot Al. Hard to find a more scenic spot than this! It's really a nice composition with the river leading you right into the mountains and wonderful reflections on the water. I would just leave it uncropped though. I like that tree on the left and the tall grasses on the right as in the original. That extended foreground seems to more gradually ease my eye into the picture. Jun 4th
