22 Mar 20 Reply There is a technique in Lightroom that I use with the adjustment brush. Put Contrast and Clarity each at 50% or whatever you think works - and then brush the area where you want to emphasize a reflection. That may have smoothed out some ripples as well.

22 Mar 20 Comment I am also a little puzzled by the image and your title doesn't give much of a clue. I'm wondering what the colors were. Nice design, nice composition, but the monochrome, to me, subdues my reaction to it. Mar 12th
22 Mar 20 Comment This is really nice Joe. I love the textures and desert colors. The foreground doesn't have much going on and could probably be cropped in a bit. I think I would have left in more of the blue sky to contrast with the earthy tones. Lovely image.

I would have liked to see more detail in the feathers, but you were probably a little too far away for that. I think your crop is fine - I like the diagonal that you have created. Minor detail - there appears to be a sensor spot or dust spot just under the bird's right wing. Mar 12th
22 Mar 20 Comment I agree with all that Joe has said, including a square crop. So - which is the front of the paw? And is that straight mark at the bottom one of the claw prints? Mar 12th
22 Mar 20 Comment Yes this is a girl. I also like the black and white version. That conversion has drawn more attention to her eyes which are very expressive. I think I'd crop just a little closer to emphasize her face - getting rid of the toe of her shoe and some of the knee that is not as well in focus. Good capture! Mar 12th
22 Mar 20 Comment I agree with Joe about the color tones. Really, really nice textures and patterns. I have only seen pictures of the Palouse when it is all green and gold, so this is an unusual departure from that. I also like the colors in the sky, particularly at the horizon, but it would benefit from a small crop at the top. Also the photographer seems a bit cramped at the bottom, but you could add some canvas there and clone in the added ground and rocks. Very nice. Mar 12th
