Very effective technique. It seems to me to be a little like focus stacking, but you are lighting different areas of the scene. If printed on glossy paper it would make a beautiful ad for the product. Nicely done. |

Nice job of isolating the image from the background. I like your twinkling lights. I probably would have added even more. It's an unusual look for a flower! Very nice! |

I'm curious also about how well this would print. Such bold color sometimes doesn't translate to paper very well - at least not for me.
I do like both images. The wave is a bit more creative, but I like the simplicity and composition of the original too.
Very nice Joe. |

I think that your original better directs the viewer to the light from the flames. I think that the contrast of the dark night and the bright balloons is your focal point. Maybe just changing the sky back to black in your final version would do the trick. You have captured the scene really well, and I do like your angle shooting down the row of three balloons. This was not an easy shot to get! Very nicely done Al! |

Mike, your image and Jerry's are kind of companion pieces. This is beautiful - many shades of gold, lots of reflecting and sparkling lights, gorgeous background. Excellent fulfillment of the assignment. |

Very very creative Jerry. I really like your composition. It is very symmetrical, yet there are enough differences that it is interesting rather than static. It is very pleasant to let your eye move through the colors and shapes. I love all the reflections. I wonder if you could have left a little more at the bottom because there is a lot going on there in terms of reflection. Well done and satisfies the assignment perfectly! |
