That's awesome Joe! That was a huge amount of work!! I very much like the effect of making the man in the lower right smaller and away from the horse. It has really de-emphasized him, although you do see the signs of cloning where he was. And the tail end may not be exactly sharp to your eye, but I think it looks very natural. I also like what you did in removing the top row of the stands on the right. It seems to give more continuity to the tree background. Great job - thanks for taking the time!! |

Very nice image. This is a wonderful composition and landscape, and you have used the tree to great advantage. I think that shooting a little upward from a lower vantage point would have gotten the branches up away from the ground.
The texture on the tree is outstanding. The whole scene appears on my monitor to be somewhat under saturated - you could up the vibrance or saturation in general. |

Yes it is whimsical. Very cute idea - I can see why you were drawn to it. |

I would crop it down so that the tip of the highest peak is cut off. That really, in my opinion, puts the focus on the barn. Crop to maybe a 16:9 perspective - long and narrow - so you don't lose the placement of the barn. I really like the looks of this in B&W, and the enhanced detail emphasizes the age of the building but has also brought out more features in the mountains. Very nice. |

I was totally unaware of that rule. I wondered in watching the riders, why they all had the hand in the air - and just assumed it was a style thing. Wow! |

Interesting about the fingers. Have never noticed that.

I agree with the others. Your subtle adjustments improved an already excellent image. Very effective stroke as well.

I love the wonderful texture of these trees. You have a very good eye, John, to spot this composition. Well done.

I like your experiment but also prefer the varied color version. I would have also thought this qualified as monochrome which I interpret as a single color, so that surprises me. This is a very good fireworks image - very crisp - and perfectly fills the frame. |

Thanks for the suggestions Joe. I also thought about filling in with the green trees. But it seemed to me that I had very little green to select from and lots of area to fill in, so I didn't try it. Maybe fill in trees in the tent area and use Gaussian blur on the rest as Marti did.
