I think the halo is coming from the "glow" effect. I didn't like those leaves on the left either and I tried darkening but that looked worse. I did apply more blur to them though. I removed another flower that was in that area in the background - and just decided to live with the leaf. |

Yes. In Photoshop, open the clone tool. Look along the toolbar of options for that tool. Close to the left side you will see "Mode: Normal". Click on that and change it to Darken. Now clone as usual. Take a sample from the lighter background using the ALT key, then drag along the edge of the object with the halo. You don't have to be particularly careful because you are instructing the tool to darken the light area - so it doesn't easily bleed into your object. Does that make sense? |

Yes he is magnificent and very proud. I love the way he looks right at the camera. The background, although it is his natural habitat, is a bit too busy. Perhaps blur or darken more. A levels adjustment would brighten him to bring out more detail. But I think this is a wonderful portrait. |

I agree with Marti and Jerry's comments - peaceful, tranquil scene. The backlighting adds a nice element. I'd crop out a little more of the sky because of the brightness, but you don't want to lose those beautiful trees. Good capture. Adding a slight white vignette would focus the eye on the barn and also would help to blend the white sky. |

It looks like the man on the left is posed as if he is about to start playing a violin, although I guess he has a camera in his hands. Very good composition - I think the violin is about at the crosshairs of the rule of thirds. Very nice subject selection. I have attached your picture with the halo removed. In addition to Jerry's instructions, set the "Mode" to Darken. Then you can clone the edges rapidly without worrying about the edges. |

Great job Jerry! This reminds me of a cartoon that I have seen somewhere with 3 birds colluding together to create some mischief. (Angry Birds?) I like how you have brought out the detail in the eyes and sharpened up the feathers. I'm not sure the fake rain is necessary. You have the implication of the rain with the added raindrops on the birds beaks and heads and that works for me. But nevertheless, the fake rain gives a much nicer background. |

I don't see the turtle, but I see the emerging head of a dragon?? - upper left. Very nice abstract image with beautiful texture and soft colors. |
