Thank Mark and Victor for your comments. Gen Fil did an amazing job of filling in the Queen's right arm. As a portrait, I agree that her two friends are a distraction, but her expression says, "Oh, that's news." This was more of a street photo, and the two friends provided the context of a conversation. Pete, you're right about making the BG darker, those gold stripes are very distracting. |

Thanks Sophia, ACR is Adobe Camera Raw which is part of Photoshop. With ACR you can make masks to separate elements of the photograph. Light Room has the same capabilities as ACR. |

Sophia, this is an outstanding capture of a Praying Mantis. Years ago I took a bug shooting course conducted by some well-known entomology photographers. One of them stressed including the environment with the subject. He used a 30mm macro-lens, resulting in about 1/2 subject and 1/2 environment. I started with your original and used ACR to isolate the subject, then worked on the subject and BG separately. |

Mark, I agree with Sophia's suggestions concerning the parent's head; however, for me, the BG is fine. |

Pete, I love the perspective of this image. I agree with Sophia's and Mark's comments. It's a little late now, but I wonder if photo stacking would have helped this image. Nice job, Pete. |

To some, squirrels are just pests, but for me, they are entertainment for our two indoor cats. You made a great capture; the squirrel is well-lit and in focus. Cropping and post-processing are well done. |

Keisha, dragonflies are amazing animals, and this is a wonderful capture of one. I agree with Pete's remarks and modifications. However, the bokeh balls were pulling my attention away from the subject. I did some experimenting, knowing that burning in the balls doesn't work often, I first made a copy of the subject and put it on its own layer. I darkened the original layer and sampled the green BG. I made a solid-colored green layer with a black mask under the subject layer. I painted white on the mask above the bokeh balls and then reduced the opacity for the final image. |
