This is a difficult image to correct because of the rather flat and backlit lighting. Although you were able to bring out the woman's features to me it looks a little cartoonish. What I have done was use PS to isolate the subject then increase the brightness and reduce the contrast; added a color balance adjustment (increased the red +25 and reduced the blue -1). Next, I increase the vibrance to 10. Last, I added a color gradient using multiply blending mode and reduced the opacity to 45%. What do you think? |

This is an excellent subject for a stacked macro. I like your final crop as it isolates the mechanics of the watch; everything is well-lit and is sharp from near to far. I wish my pocket watch looked half as nice. Well done, Jim. |

Interesting pose. Good job adding the smoke; nice job of burning and dodging too. It looks like you did some dodging around the model adding "background light" to create more separation for the model. |

This is a wonderful photo of a male lion in his element. I cropped this image so that his eyes were in the rule of thirds area. I then isolated him from the BG; using the gaussian blur tool I blurred BG to 2.5 and reduced the brightness to -12. |

Barbara, I like experimenting with waterdrop photography and now that the weather has cooled down I need to get back in my garage with the waterdrop set-up. I particularly like "original 1" with the pattern glass. When I set up my waterdrop shots I like to have my camera at the level or slightly above the surface of the water. However, you have captured rings of waves which is nice. |
