This is an iconic Bridalveil Falls, Yosemite image. I assume the image is cropped or zoomed in quite a bit, which makes the rainbow prominent. Cropping out might provide a bit more of the peak on the right and more foreground, but there is no definitive best crop, usually. |

I think this is a pleasing image and better in BW. I like the subtle god rays in the sky and the boy provides a center of interest along the winding shoreline. I might add a bit of contrast to the rocky shoreline. |

That sometimes happens to me when I take pictures of outdoor flowers. There is some small bug on the flower I didn't see. The bug is a bit soft - difficult to get these very small things in perfect focus when handheld at 1/60. |

Yes, zoo backgrounds are usually not good - too many structures and fences. As you note, I think that the contour between the subject and black background looks a bit artificial. |

That's a great image. I love the tongue sticking out. I might, very slightly, lighten the eyes of the adult. |
