60 Dec 25 Comment Rita,
This is a pleasing landscape image with the layers and colors and the contrasty sky. My eye is drawn to the center V and then it opens up again in the background. I agree that the white structure is a bit dissonant - you may or may not be able to remove it if you enter it in a contest. And I would desaturate the foreground a bit.

60 Dec 25 Comment Erin,
There are lots of possible crops within the original image. All you can do is try out variations and see which works best for you. I like this crop. The texture and color variation of greens, browns, and yellows is soothing and the clarity of the droplets adds interest.

60 Dec 25 Comment Sometimes turning away from the compelling point of interest gives you a better photo opportunity. The image is a bit flat to me, possibly because the sky has little interest visually. There are some clouds which might be brought forward with greater contrast. Dec 19th
60 Dec 25 Comment Diana,
The conversion to b/w works well, especially with some of the distractions removed. This effect appears nearly like an older HDR with lots of grit and grain.

69 Dec 25 Comment Diane,
I am glad I am not the only one that doesn't have an animal/bird image every month but it is a bit difficult to make heads or tails out of this image- there is a lot of vegetation, some of it blocking the background feature and a vanilla cloudless sky.

69 Dec 25 Comment Jacob,
That maybe what is called color fringing (there are probably other names too). I think that happens when there is strong light on an edge with high contrast. There are ways to try to edit and reduce it; try googling it. In general, I find the bright/shiny foreground a bit distracting from the subject.
You might open up (lighten) the shadows in the face and body produced by the strong backlighting.

69 Dec 25 Comment Nice frontal image of a large male with a large (for a deer) rack. The background is kind of in-between to my eye - not really soft bokeh and not in focus either. Not sure if there is anything that could be changed now. Dec 5th
69 Dec 25 Comment Interesting image of this pair - mother and child? I like that the larger one is looking into the camera. They seem to be going uphill, and maybe they were. I might remove or crop out the bright area (snow/water?) in the foreground. Dec 5th
