Thanks Anne. I think I am a long way from mastery of this camera. |

Anne,
It is usually a better image image if you can catch the bird doing something and you got this one with a leg lifted and wings getting extended. So that makes for a more interesting bird image. I might crop in from the right a bit to get rid of that upstanding grass/reed at the bottom right.

Diane,
I like that all the important facial features from wide-set eyes to nose and mouth are clear and in-focus. This is a playful amusing image and about as close to a camel as I would ever want to be. |

Diane,
As noted, the subject crab is too small in the frame to be of much visual interest. I guess it is not easy to stalk a crab. |

The hummer is beautiful and appears to be tracking the wasp very intently. And apparently hummers do eat small insects, so maybe the wasp was a potential meal. Too bad the wasp wasn't in the range of clear lens focus. |

Jacob,
I like the color and detail in this bird on the ground. Of course, the grass is very busy but that's where the bird was. |

This is one of those images where I don't know which way to look. And maybe that was intended. |

Interesting courtship image. As usual the female doesn't look very impressed. |

I am learning about using an IR camera. The camera has a 590mm filter, so that filters out much of the visible light but not all of it. So I can use it to produce "false color" images. I have other converted images that I took after this one that I like better. I have been told by an "IR expert" that shooting wide open is preferable since it will reduce the dreaded hot spot but I am not sure that is correct. |
