60 Dec 24 Comment Rita,
The sky with the God rays is the star of this landscape image. It appears that you cropped out what looks like a sidewalk, which is good. I also would consider cropping the small pile of gravel in the lower left. In general, the foreground isn't very interesting but I don't know if cropping more of it out would help.

60 Dec 24 Reply Thanks Anne. I think a bit more space would be good. Dec 4th
60 Dec 24 Comment Denny,
I agree with Anne. While I like the highlighting on the cactus, I think the main attraction is the wren nesting within the cactus. The cactus provides excellent environmental context for the wren. See attached for consideration. I cropped in; darkened the highlights in the background as much as possible; and lightened and sharpened the Wren.

60 Dec 24 Reply Anne,
I wasn't being critical. I like the image. Not sure why you would think otherwise.

60 Dec 24 Comment Anne,
Usually we try to avoid camera movement and blurring but with ICM the challenge is to find to best combination of movement and shutter speed. Your image allows for shape and form and lines to still be clearly present infused with lovely soft light. The result is a quite visually interesting abstract. You could enter it in a contest in the abstract category. I think submitting the original too would be helpful.

69 Dec 24 Comment The crop is good. I agree darkening the background a bit might help. Dec 11th
69 Dec 24 Comment The eye with side lighting is striking. Maybe lightening and showing a bit more detail in the neck area would reduce the floating head appearance. Dec 11th
69 Dec 24 Comment The look is definitely what makes this image. Dec 11th
69 Dec 24 Reply Yes, I thought about that too. Dec 11th
69 Dec 24 Reply Diane,
Yes, very possible to remove and good suggestion. I didn't look that close to see them.

69 Dec 24 Comment I like the cleaned-up background. The flower itself seems a bit too vivid to me but it is certainly striking. Dec 6th
69 Dec 24 Comment Pierre,
Great catch. I know a few hunters that would love to have seen this buck with the large symmetrical rack.

69 Dec 24 Comment I like the shadow of the paw and the obvious playful interaction between the two. The golden lighting is nice too. Dec 6th
