Hi Debbie,
I removed it and then blended in the background. |

I like the single bird and the break before the long line. It provides a bit of asymmetry and a bit of mystery. |

Rita,
The sky has some interest but the posts and the gulls are the real subject, so cropping out some more of the sky would place more of the visual emphasis there. I would like to see a telephoto shot of the birds taken right down the middle of the posts. |

The hoops and the translucent plastic provide an interesting enclosed frame for the viewer's eye with the trees in the background. The foreground isn't of particular interest, at least to me, so a possible edit might place less emphasis on the foreground and more on the hoops and plastic and trees (see attached, for example). |

Damon,
I bet you'll find a way for those new camera bodies. The reason we save money is so we can spend it. |

Damon,
I like the way my eye travels from the right post in the foreground to the last post in the background-lovely composition. Why no camera stabilization? Is there a downside when handholding? |

Christine,
Welcome to our group.
You captured a sharp image of this dragonfly with the F11 aperture. Unfortunately, that also created a larger depth of field which makes the background more noticeable. The vignette does help darken the background a bit. |

Ken,
Welcome to our group.
I like way the fish on the left wraps around and encloses the one on the right. It is always tricky to take an image through glass. You did well. |

Thanks Mervyn. I like monochrome. Maybe a throwback to my film days. |

Jacob,
Good capture of the bee and the flower. The background is too bright and distracting with all the dark crossing lines. I might crop in and darken and soften the background. See attached. |

Cindy,
I am so wanting to see the eye contact between mother and baby. But from the head orientation of the mother, maybe she wasn't actually making eye contact. Since her full face wasn't in the frame, I find the inclusion of half of the mother's head a bit disturbing (visually). One alternative might be to crop in on the baby's face (see attached). This provides a bit of mystery and implied eye contact. |

Pierre,
Wow, that's an amazing reflection. I looks like a shadow but I don't think there are colored shadows? Still trying to make perceptual sense of this image. |

You definitely caught the action. That's a very agile bird. The crop is well selected and the disturbed water frames the front and back of the bird and directs my eye from right to left. The reflect adds even more interest to this image.
Did you have the camera set for a high frame rate? |
