Thanks for your insights Damon. Easy enough to do some spot dodging on the rocks. The symmetry idea needs some more consideration by me. |

Anne,
I like the color, sharpness and the excellent detail with all the water droplets on the flower. Cropping and subject placement with flowers usually involves various trade-offs, depending on what is next to and around the flowers. I often add a vignette to darken the edges a bit and keep the eye on the subject rather than the background. Nice pic. |

Damon,
This is a pleasing scenic image to my eye. I like the layers of rock, river, trees, mountains, and then some sky. The included person adds some scale. I agree that the sky is a bit washed out but sometimes that's the way it is. I would probably darken it a bit more. |

Emmy,
Good detail, texture, and I like that the dog is looking a bit to the left. The upper left background is a bit distracting; could be darkened a bit. |

Not so sure about that - certainly you can change the lightness/darkness and contrast and be OK with the Nature rules. Changing the hue is probably not allowed. |

Very penetrating eyes on that Wallaby - reflected low sun maybe? |

Here are my adjustments - darken background, a bit of contrast, and more blue ??? |

Definitely the no tree version. This image looks almost like a graphic image. The background might be darkened a bit with increased contrast to make the clouds look more like clouds and make the image look more like a photo than a graphic image (although I like that too). |

Candy,
I like the dark blue background against the golden foreground. I might crop in and rotate the image a bit so the ends of the branch line up with the diagonal corners of the frame. |

Pierre,
I like the blooms surrounding this bird. I might crop out the bloom on the far right to put the eye more on the bird as the center of interest. Sometimes the image on you computer doesn't get translated well to the image on this group. In any case, the background looks a bit too bright to me.
What do you think of this version (ignore the file name)? |

Wow - I love those huge yellow feet trying to grasp that thin stem. A very dynamic image with a lovely flat blue/green background. |

The composite was from two images - the first image has two birds in it (one bird on the perch getting ready to jump off and the other above in flight) and the second has just the one bird after it jumped off the perch. |

Yes, the challenge with using this long Sony lens (200 - 600) with a very high shutter speed is that you need all the light you can get.
