Difficult to get everything in focus with such a large leg span and up close. The busy background overwhelms the subject a bit. Pierre's suggestion are spot on. |

Brenda,
A nice landscape from the boat but I agree - somewhat bland overall, partly because of the gray and featureless sky (typical of northern Michigan in the late fall and winter). Cropping in would help some. |

Candy,
I love the four chicks. The rear end of the mother does not add much for me. Always difficult to get wildlife to pose properly. |

A nice closeup with excellent sharp detail and texture. The subject is not compelling to me but you did a nice job of making it interesting. Next I want to see an image of the interior from ground level. |

Very sharp and excellent ground level perspective. We have lots of squirrels in Michigan (now mostly Black ones) but I rarely try to take pics of them. Usually, they are up in the trees. |

Geoff,
A great bird pic. You caught the wings a at lovely position. And what an interesting visual connection between those two birds. |

Thanks Candy,
I think cropping to the right will actually mover the main tree more toward the center? |

Thanks Brenda. I find that I am doing less and less in post these days. I did brighten some of the background and open the shadows in the foreground. |
