Jacob,
The original image was raw. Almost all raw images require some post processing. In Lightroom the image was cropped and the white balance increased a bit. A bit of clarity and sharpening were added and a small vignette. That's it -- takes about 60 seconds. |

Yes, many choices when cropping. I just end up with what looks best to my eye. |

Geoffrey,
Very sharp face and eyes and well lighted. I like that you offset the monkey to provide space in the frame in the direction of his/her gaze. |

Brenda,
This is a pleasing visual image with the strong leading foot path line and the frame of green and yellow foliage. The only better picture I can imagine is if there was a black panther walking up the trail toward you :). |

Candy,
That definitely looks like a misty Oregon shoreline scene. I like the way the shoreline sand and birds are contained and connected between the line of the sea and the darker coastline in the bottom. The flip works well; I don't mind all the logs at the bottom of the image. |

Pierre,
I like the texture and lines and contrast. You might try cropping in and isolating the center hole in the tree. |

I too think leaving the mother and child in the background approaching the water tells a better story - excellent capture of elephants in the wild. |

Thanks Mervyn,
I had my camera on a tripod which was about 2 feet high. So I did have to get on one knee to see through the viewfinder (I rarely use the LCD). Getting back up isn't easy but I was able to use the tripod leg to push off, so that helped.
The blue flowers are bluebonnets (the Texas State flower). I left them in the pic because the local folks would recognize them in the background. |
