Thanks Pierre,
Yes, F4.0 is not what I would normally use for landscape. Maybe my camera was thinking for itself on that one.
The day before I took this pic it would have been impossible to find a dunes that didn't have foot tracks all over it. Fortunately, the night before there was about an hour around 1 pm when the wind came up (30 - 40 mph) and wiped away all the tracks. I got out at around 5:30 am that morning before everything got tracked up again. |

Pierre,
In PS, I would start with the patch tool (select the area you want to remove and then drag it to an area which looks better) and then I would follow up with the clone stamp tool to replace some of the texture and match the ripples. Attached is my 60 second initial go at it.
Another approach in PS is to crop off the unwanted part on the right and complete that action. Then use the crop tool again (with the content aware check box checked) and extend the boarder on the right the desired amount and complete that action. The water will be extended into the cropped area. Then use the clone stamp tool to replicate the water texture.
I am sure there are other ways also in PS.
I'll attach the first approach (#2) and then the second in a separate reply. |

Mervyn,
This is literally "butting heads". I like the symmetry between the two, the contrasting colors of their hide/fur(?), and the implied action. |

Geoffrey,
That doesn't look like a place you would want to have an emergency landing. I like the pattern, curves, texture, and color of this abstract. Without the intro, the scale is difficult to discern. |

Brenda,
I like the arch of the wings and the fanned out tail feathers. Cropping in to remove some of the distractions was certainly good. I agree that having the head down and eyes mostly hidden is not the most impactful pose. The blurred background is better than the distracting original. |

Jacob,
I think your crop is an improvement but the dark vertical in the cropped version is a bit distracting. There are lots of things going on in this image, so the colorful yellow subject is somewhat diminished. |

Nice; reminds me of an octopus crawling along. |

Pierre,
I like the five swans in various stages of getting out of the water to fly. I might crop the disturbed water to the right of the group out or replace it with undisturbed water. |
