I'd still leave some room; just not quite as much. |

Geoffrey,
The nice thing about landscapes is that they usually don't move around much (unless you end up being in NZ, like we were, during an earthquake). And you can use a tripod, so not have to worry about shutter speed so much. |

Thank Pierre,
I agree that snow falls where it may and in any case is recognizable as snow in any case.
I did the same thing and ended up removing some of the haziness from the foreground. |

Geoffrey, thanks for providing a landscape of Australia -- very interesting formation. I agree that it appears a bit over saturated and I might crop down from the top a bit since there is little of interest in the upper sky. |

Brenda, lovely golden hour color. While a foreground element is often helpful in landscapes, I agree that cutting off the foreground plant reduces the effectiveness. I would not place the horizon right in the middle vertical-- either up or down a bit depending on what else is in the image. In this case, the upper sky has little interest, so moving the horizon up and capturing more foreground might work better. |

Donna, I actually like the inclusion of the twig and the capture of the owl in flight is great. I might crop in a bit from the upper left corner. |

Candy, definitely a close-up. I agree that more depth of field would have been helpful. |

Pierre, The subject is clear and, unlike many pictures of birds in trees, there are no branches in the foreground to interfere with the focus on the subject. I might blur and darken the background a bit. |

Mervyn, I think this is a lovely capture -- very sharp where it counts and nice bokeh. I don't mind the color noise because it is in the blurred background. |
