I like the second version more. Those darn smaller birds always seem to choose a place to land where they have lots of cover. |

I like the sinuous curve of the neck, the sharp eye and colorful beak and the detail in the white feathers. Too bad that little tree trunk protrudes and covers the foot and body- I think that is a bit of visual distraction but it does add natural context. |

I like the solitary tree on the island against the cloudy ruby background. I would confine the reds of dawn to the background and leave the foreground with the detail and color of the original. |
