69 Apr 17 Comment Thanks Mervyn,

You're right, night photos are a different thing -- a bit more guesswork and experimentation involved I think.

Yes, you live in a beautiful place for all kinds of great photos -- lucky you.

69 Apr 17 Reply Thanks Candy,

Good to know there is a bit of latitude re: acceptable nature content.

69 Apr 17 Comment Thanks Pierre,

The first thing to decide is if you want to stay up most of the night.

69 Apr 17 Comment Thanks Brenda; the post processing can be a bit different, particularly if you stack a bunch of photos. In any case, for these longer exposures, the camera sees much more detail than the eye can perceive. Apr 9th
69 Apr 17 Comment I don't know if I missed the topic this month since everyone did an animal. These two pics are actually two different locations in the Big Bend area -- one in the park and other one (the church) in the nearby town of Terlingua. Apr 8th
69 Apr 17 Comment Rob,
A nice clear pic of this Dotterel (I had no clue what kind of bird it is -- so many birds in NZ). The water, sandy contours, and early sun provide a pleasing backdrop and contrast for this colorful bird.

69 Apr 17 Comment Brenda,

Good catch of this big cat in a natural setting. I might crop in just a bit more although I expect some might say that leaving it as is provides a better sense of the natural environment. In any case, maybe a bit of vignette would help focus the eye on the cat.

69 Apr 17 Comment Candy,

The light is lovely in this picture and allows the details of the feathers to be very clear. The "question mark" neck leads the eye back into the body of the Egret where there are the most details and interest. Nice pic.

69 Apr 17 Comment Pierre,

The expanding water provides a nice framing for this fishing bird. The clear water provides an opportunity to see the vegetation and habitat below the waterline.

69 Apr 17 Comment A clear pic of this Black Korhaan in its natural habitat. It took me another look to see that he was announcing his presence. Apr 8th
