On that trip I rode a 1100 KTM Adventure. I carried lots of motorcycle clothing/gear; some repair stuff; and, or course, my camera. No dogs or pets and no camping gear.		 Mar 4th

Good composition with the bird moving/pointed from upper left to lower right of the picture. The ripples in the water add visual interest and the reflection draws the eye to the center of interest.		 Mar 3rd

Cropping so the subject (bird) is not in the center might be an option. I can't decide if the stick/log in the upper right is a distraction or adds context. Since the sand is so flat, it probably adds visual interest and some depth to the picture, as you noted. As Brenda indicated, the eye is just a black hole. You might bring out the color in the chest a bit more too.		 Mar 3rd

You included foreground, midground, and background which often makes for a good landscape. The background (mountains) appear a bit flat to me -- maybe some selective dehaze would help. The foreground has many birds but there is no real center of visual interest -- too much of a good thing in the foreground.		 Mar 3rd

Another dramatic bird in flight pic. I agree that bringing out a bit more detail in the dark underside of the wing would be helpful.

Super-sharp picture with nice bokeh. I agree that a bit more contrast in the face would be good. Nice to have a 600mm lens for shots like this.		 Mar 3rd

You certainly got the light just at the right time -- the glow intensifies the reds in the rock and the contrast between the foreground and background is dramatic. Nice pic. I am planning a trip to the Canyonlands NP this May.		 Mar 3rd
