Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
25 Jan 17 Reply Thanks. I see your points about light area on the right, the branches above, and the tree on the left. I probably could have improved the composition in the camera by moving forward a little (as Marla suggested) and using a little wider angle so I could get all of the colorful tree in the image. I'm sure I'll start to be a little more "critical" of my in-camera composition. Jan 24th

25 Jan 17 Comment It's a beautiful sunset and it's really great that the cameras in our iPhones are so good to be able to capture these scenes when it's not convenient to carry around DSLR, tripod, etc. The light rays in the center are the thing that caught my eye as they focal point. There were a couple of things that bothered me about the composition thoigh. The concrete pad in the center was distracting and the tree on the right also distracted my attention from the most appealing part of the image. I down loaded the image and cropped it and then made a few tweaks with the structure, tone, and lightened the foreground ever so slightly. I also provided a little vignetting to try to bring the eye to the rays of light. Jan 12th
25 Jan 17 Comment Nicely done. I don't think I could add anything to the comments of Audrey and Marla.

25 Jan 17 Comment I've read a couple of articles recently about how close-up wide-angle shots can add a different perspective to landscape photographs, and you seem to have nailed the technique on this one. I've also been to Bryce and have looked at lots of images with yours providing a totally different perspective on the beauty that is Bryce. I agree with the others that cutting the root off at the right leaves you wondering that if you moved the camera to the right a little would have included the root as a leading line into the tree and out into the landscape. I like the detail in the roots and trunk and the texture of the soil. Jan 9th
25 Jan 17 Comment You did a great job in capturing the detail in the feathers of the owl. I agree the background in the original image doesn't provide the right contrast for the owl to pop. I like the black background, but like the "leaf pattern Audrey used better. It does look more like the image was captured in a natural setting. A slight border does make the black background stand out from the web site background. Jan 9th
25 Jan 17 Comment Nicely composed. You emphasized the best part of the image with the horizon near the bottom and in post processing by bringing out the colors and some texture of the clouds. My personal preference would have to bring out a little more detail in the clouds. Good job overall. Jan 9th
