Other than the hot white in the center, I like the texture of the dome and capture of the people. I was just in the pantheon 2 weeks ago in the afternoon and was presented with the same problem of bright light from the opening. I tried bracketing. I have not post-processed the images yet! I did not have a CFL with me that day. |

Interesting image. The lighting obviously was tough but I feel you did a great job with the limitations you were presented with. I suggest straightening as Tom said. Background is distracting so maybe darken the background or more shallow DOF if can be done in PS. Brightening the whites also help.maybe change the white balance in LR? |

The image looks sharp to me! If interested, Topaz has a denoise and sharpness AI plug-in which may interest you. I've only tried it twice with mixed results.(probably because my image was too blurred!) |

I also believe you captured the action very well. The image is composed well. The exposure and sharpness is spot on. I agree with Tom to "pop" the colors of the subjects for more separation from the background. You may even want to try to blur the background a little with a mask in PS. |
