This is a beautiful shot. The large giraffe almost seems to be Guarding the two in the background. This reminds me of Lisa Langell's high contrast nature images. I tried a brightness/contrast adjustment layer, but that changes the mood. I prefer the gentle mood that you have captured. |

The subject is the brick wall and ladder in the background. It would be nice to see the foreground a little more clearly. Working in such a dismal place must have been very hard, indeed. Your image brings out the mood very well. |

Wow, this certainly says "Death Valley". This is very well done - and well planned. |

I agree that the composition is very good. The diagonals of the dock, the canoes, and eventually the horizontal far shore line make a nice zigzag. I also played with the colors and contrast using Hue/Saturation (mostly on red). But the red quite quickly became over saturated. I used Viveza on the hotel because it seems a little dull. But again, it quickly became overdone. The original is far better than my attempts. |

All three of these photos fit the bill for near/far. The scene shows the majesty of nature. My personal favorite is the third with your son positioned off to the left. That version makes the mountains the subject rather than the person. Not that your son isn't important. Just my humble opinion. |

Your image is much softer and smoother than mine - more befitting this lovely flower spike. You did an excellent job of removing that dark area at the bottom. Thank you. |

Truthfully, the blue tint looks a little too blue. I really like original 2 better. Sorry. Georgianne likes it, though. This just proves that art is very subjective. It is a lovely, peaceful scene. The crop changing the image to vertical is well done. Per Georgianne's suggestions, I selected the reflection, added a ripple filter, then darkened it just a bit. Probably used a sledgehammer instead of a tack hammer, but you get the idea. |

Well, first of all, the new colors are amazing. Viveza may have allowed you to brighten the faces, but that would make them the same color as the wings. If they are tri-colored herons, there should be a difference. You've got interaction between the birds, a catch light in the eyes, and wonderful detail in the feathers. But I agree with Georgianne that the background should be darker, putting more emphasis on the birds. |

These are adorable! Your family will keep them forever. I agree with Georgianna that the white background is a bit bright. I'm not good picking textures, so I tried sky replacement. |

This image certainly makes a statement. At first, I did not find it at all appealing. But now realize that was because this tells an ugly truth - we really can't live without plastic in this modern age. What a story this tells! I am so sorry that you have been going through this. Your grit and determination are admirable. I pray that you continue to get better. |

You have created a rather poignant image. The two images are blended very well; there is still some texture in the sand within the loop of original 1. It looks like rays. That compliments the jelly fish very well. Just for S&G's I rotated and flipped the image making the straight section of seaweed become a leading line and an under score to the jelly fish. |

This is lovely. The exposure and focus are perfect. The composition is very well done. What a good idea to take a photo of the background first, then play with that. Many times I have wanted to separate the subject from the background in order to work on just the background. Thanks for the tip. |
