The slanted building and flagpole could probably be straightened with edit/perspective. But that converging of the vertical lines helps to emphasize the height of the beam. What do you think? |

I could not place the reflections of the lights where I wanted. Taking them out is a big improvement. Your other changes are good, too. Thank you. As to looking up, I have shrunk to under 5 feet tall - I look up at everything. LOL. |

Okay. You totally fooled me on this one. I thought the subject was a bench sitting on a marble floor with window light streaming in. I thought a person sitting on the bench would be a plus. Boy, was I fooled. I like the gentle hues of the color. The B&W is a little stark for my taste, though that is a personal choice. |

I like both B&W's. It's amazing how one iimage can morph into so many versions. |

Yes, ideally there would be no cars. But ideally it won't rain on picnic day, your favorite team will win, etc. We have to work with what we are given, and you did a good job. The angle you chose gave nice diagonal lines. The exposure is good (yes, there are some hotspots in the lights, but that is the way our eyes actually see them). This would look nice in their lobby. |

The story about this image is very touching. Yes, you could have gone for the beauty of the rusty metal, but that would have been just a photograph. Thank you for sharing this with us. One wonders if memorials like Stonehenge were built to commorate some ancient tragedy or Discovery. |

Thank you. It was the angles that attrated me. It was impossible to get the lights centered in the squares, but you get what you can get. |

It looked like this. I originally liked this version better, but changed my mind. Decision-making skills of a squirrel crossing a road. |

This took my breath away. There is so much here. I hope you took many angles and perspectives while here. DOF, exposure, color balance, all perfect. The diagonal line leads the eye to the Oculus. Thank you for telling us about the rose; I wouldn't have noticed it. |

Proof that grunge is beautiful. Well done in Sepia tone. Or was it just desaturated? Oh! Just noticed the satellite dish!
What a great contrast. It looks like you added a vignette - very nice as it minimizes attention on the background. |

Welcome Chane. There is something very attractive about farms in the late afternoon. You have done a cery good job on this shot. The cropping is perfect. The exposure in a tricky lighting situation is also perfect. The geometrics of the buildings and the texture of the snow contrast nicely. Very well done. But 0 degrees? Brrrr. |

You're right about the bookcase. It is not only distracting, but almost merges with the chair. Thanks, Michael. |

Thank you. There was definitely a feeling of calm here. This was a group tour, and most people didn't want to climb the stairs. The lady of the house was very talented at needlework. Her cross stitch pictures were hanging all through the house. |

I kind of like the golden tones of Original 2; but it works in B&W also. It looks flat to me, but any adjustments in contrast will probably remove that nice fog. Perhaps it's the heavy bottom. Try cropping about half of the dark area on the bottom. There is really no detail there, but the sky is very interesting. ??? |

Good cropping. If you composited, no one would ever know; nice job. Warm colors of late afternoon are pleasing. Exposure is good on trees, birds, and sky. Well done. |

You brought out the texture in the wheel and the wall very well. That certainly adds interest. To my eye the wheel seems to be slding out of the image. But that might not be so bad. try cropping from the top, maybe down to the horizontal board. This could be a banner image for a poster or part of a grouping. Or leave it as is and you have space for a message. I like it. |

Yes, I like the square crop also. You did a good job brightening up the face under the hat brim. But somehow, this doesn't seem to me to be high key so much as overexposed. Perhaps it's the background. I put a white vignette to focus attention more on the face. Even in high key there should be an almost-black somewhere, so I used NIK Viveza on just the eye. Perhaps I over did it. In any case, she is a beautiful child. You should frame this for her parents. |

Conversion to B&W does indeed put more emphasis on the tree. It is nicely placed in the frame. There is also interesting texture in the field. The clouds look more dramatic in B&W than color. I debated cropping some sky, but, no. That doesn't work. Did you know that these solitary trees are called 'wolf trees'? Presumedly after the notion of the 'lone wolf'. I find then fascinating. |

Hello Carol and welcome. What a great image you made. The original is quite lovely as is, but you have taken this to a higher level. You did an excellent job of masking the subject. I have never used color lookup tables. Can you really just change the dress without affecting the rest of the colors? The slight blur and fogginess of the new background looks real - but also adds a bit of fantasy to the image. |
