Thank you all for your comments. The snow on the ground was very slippery, and this was about the only place to stand with falling on my kiester. This was taken a couple of years ago. I always liked it, but have just recently developed the skills to process it. |

The stationary foot shows the balance required for ice skating. To me, this is a perfect motion shot. I followed Lee Ann's suggestion for cropping. What do you think? Eliminating the bright red jacket allows the viewer to concentrate on the skates. |

The webinar suggested barely covering the flowers with water for the first freezing. Lower water level means less floating. Once the flowers are situated, you can add water to the depth you wish. |

Oh, yes, we feel the cold and damp. Just had a storm with 3 inches of slush! There is a lot going on in this image. The water droplets are well captured. The background is soft, but still sets the scene. I like the snow in the corner - it adds the feeling of cold to the obvious wetness. I tried cropping to find just the subject, but don't really know if this is a good crop. Now, instead of cold and damp, I am thinking 'asparagus'. How silly. |

I tried croppinf into that nice swirl at right center, and that looks pretty good. Then I tried no cropping but burning in the white area. Both of Carole's suggestions work well. Nature is wonderful. We were in Massachusetts at a dry river bed. The swirls caused by the water currents on the bottom of the river were very similar to the swirls formed in your ice formation. |

Hi Barbara. I have seen webinars on this technique, but never tried it. There is a trick to getting the flowers to retain their intended composition. Water and ice are very reflective. The color in the water comes from reflections of the flowers on those very bubbles and striations you wanted. Very well done. |

Hi Lee Ann. What a wonderful subject you found. I do hope that you took lots of pictures because there are many interesting compositions here. Your exposure is very good; and this was a difficult situation. Even though the image is 'frozen' there is a lot of action suggested. |

Ah, yes, Denise. I should have included the bottom of the blossom. Thus is digital - might as well work an image for all possible compositions. I did debate about the light shadow at the top. I deliberately left it in, but can't remember why now. |

Again, it is amazing how many versions of one image can be created. Sometimes it is hard to pick the best one. I tried 6 different AI Remix filters that looked good. But they change the mood of the image entirely. It depends on what you want.
You did anexcellent job removing the car and parking lot. It is difficult to xhange such a large area. The Soft Bloom filter added a nice dreaminess. |

The trash can is dark and doesn't bother me; but I can see that it is probably better removed. Your combination of filters but a striking look to this image. It appears to be a relief on bronze foil. Quite a difference from the original snapshot. |

I have tried montages like this and failed miserably. Even following step-by-step instructions does not work. This is excellent. You put a lot of forethought into this image even before starting. Okay; the scalloped edge is not the best. But everything else is so good that it doesn't matter. |

The diagonal line leading from left to right is well chosen. The texture in the snow has been captured. The viewer gets the feeling of the cold wind scouring the land. The sky is magnificent. I agree with Denise to darken that very bright area in the big cloud. |
