We saw the little path as we were walking the main road. We didn't see the girls until we rounded a curve. The bushes and the girls had arranged themselves. |

We saw many people in period costumes and finally asked about this. The regular volunteers wear costumes, but costumes are also available for school groups. The youngsters wander the grounds freely and really add to the authenticity of the village. |

The hikers leaving the road to follow a smaller path adds a needed point of interest to this image. I like the curves of that path leading off to the distance. I think that cropping from the right would make the road and path more prominent. It certainly is a beautiful and peaceful setting. |

Amazing! It actually looks like an alligator tail. The grasses in foreground and background give the image depth. The wiggly path on a slight diagonal adds much interest, as does the pattern in the path. When the subject is well focused, the motion blur in the grasses just add another unique touch to the image. |

Walter, this is beautiful. It looks like a painting. The bright colors, the placement of the objects (trees, bridge, fountain) within the frame work of the window are very well done. Should you crop off the wooden window frame? Don't know. That gives the viewer the feeling of looking out of the window as you did; and that's important. Should probably keep it just as it is. |

I actually debated that crop, but decided to keep the fishing pole. I did use the healing brush to remove some tourists in bright clothes on the far shore. |

Deer are beautiful creatures. You did well to catch this shot, especially in early darkness. Could you improve this shot? Sure. But deer don't take direction well. It would be nice if she had picked up her head. It would be nice if the background was less messy. But deer don't take direction well. It must have been a memorable experience to be so close to this animal! |

Everything here works to your advantage: the curving pathway, the energetic walker with the lazy dog, the new spring foliage on the trees tie the middle ground together with a bow. Even the clouds have a gentle diagonal. Your exposure and DOF are spot on. One of the lovely things about the Capitol Mall is that it is a sort of "Borough Park" for Americans. One finds people running, walking, picnicking. even napping - feeling right at home. You caught that feeling very well. |

Perhaps noticing things like the bright sky area, the blossoms, or the fence depends on whether the viewer is looking at a picture of the mill, or a picture of the path leading to it. Thank you all for your comments. I will apply them and use this image in a future show (if there will be any future shows). |

Thank you, Larry, for your comments. I do like your crop. I had never noticed that brightness on the fence. |

We found the spigot for the stream, but it was rusted shut. LOL. Would have loved the sheep! |

I always feel that my depth of field is too shallow or too deep. When shooting landscapes, I go for a deeper depth of field. Perhaps I should adjust that. |

Your arrangement is lovely. The flowers are sharp; the fur & feather added a nice definition to the petals. But I find the overall green cast to be distracting. I would like to see a version without the iridescent sheet. But I would also like to see more images using the iridescent sheet. |

We, too, have played with smoke images. What fun! And surprisingly easy. Some things we have done with our 'smoke.' Composited it with a dragon figurine to look like Smaug (from "Hobbit"). One plume of smoike had the exact shape of a lovely iris I overlayed the smoke on the flower and titled it, "Smoke Gets in your Iris." In your composite I see two dancers watched by a bird, perhaps singing the music that they hear. Or maybe the scene is under water and the upper right corner is a musical jellyfish. |

Very well done, Witta. Adding the warmth seemed to have made the sand more inviting. The beach leads in from the left to the smaller group of trees and thence to the larger group of trees. Classic leading lines. You brought out the clouds quite well. I wouldn't change anything. |

Your imagination worked well for you in this image. How many of us could have seen these 3 flowers and visualized this result? The composition is well-balanced and pleasing. The gold-foil effect of all those textures and layers is creative and holds the image together nicely. The masking is invisible - something that is very difficult. Congratulations on a job well done. |
