Thank you Mark. Those two round 'dots' on each side are bothersome, as well as the horizontal strip at the bottom. They should be easy to get rid of. |

Hum... Maybe the blue from the shell. I will have to try that. Meanwhile, I have decided that I don't like the exaggerated detail and saturation of the shell. The softness of the original is prettier. What do you think? |

Ah, yes. I have no shot with the entire mirror frame in it. I just took it as a record shot with no special use in mind. Taking extra shots of any subject is a good idea. We never know when a creative moment will hit. |

Trees are lovely subjects; they are never elusive. I find the curve of the tree, the texture of leaves and grass really grab my eye. The warm glow of early morning or late afternoon enriches the color. I like the mountains in the background; they add great depth to the scene. I find the sky to be slightly cyan, but adjusting that could take some of the warmth away from the tree. Very nice. |

I see the curves of the grass echoing the curves of the bridge. I love the colors of the sky and water. I think your exposure and DOF are perfect. Perhaps I would crop from the left to remove some of the straight grass blades. Very nicely done. |

Walter, I like this the best of all your images so far. The simple composition, the color of the pot, and that small shaft of light leading to the pot make this very interesting. There are even some red-toned stones that make the red pot belong. The only thing I would change is to give the pot a little more room at the top. You couldn't really change your camera angle because the rocks become very bright beyond the pot. That would be a distraction. Nicely done. |

Okay, the curvy part is small, but I still like the image. The diagonals and patterns are very dramatic. This could be a minimalist image. I prefer the B&W because the colors soften the lines too much (Sorry, Ally.) The vents don't bother me - just add more diagonals. The only thing I would do is crop from the left to eliminate the pillar. |

I really like the added impact of your cropping and rotating. I would have added a polarizing filter to the sky; this might add a little brightness to the arch as well. I like Gavin's comment about minimalist photography; simple compositions are often the most interesting. I do seem to see noise in the sky and even the arch. However, the small size and resolution of these images may just make it appear noisy. My Uncle Bill worked for a steel fabricator that supplied some materials for the arch. He spent many weeks at St. Louis overseeing the company's part in the construction. |
