Hi David and welcome. Great image. Perfect exposure, perfect composition. Your tip about cleaning the dark background is well given. Yes, we can clean it up in Photo Shop, but we will be cleaning all the images we take of that subject. We only have to clean the background once. I wouldn't change your image at all. |

This is a beautiful shot. We have a Camera Club member who loves photographing birds. All of his shots have the same soft, gentle background as yours. When we see a perfect shot we call is a "Don S...." This is a "Don S...."

Pittsburgh does make for some lovely city scapes. Carole's sky is spot on. Kudis for holding the camera steady while bracing it on a moving boat. Maybe NIK Viveza could handle the bright spots on the trees. But truthfully, they are no brighter than the spires of the buildings; they don't bother me. |

Walter, do you get to see scenery like this every day? How lucky you are! Nice interpretation of "right angle" to mean "correct angle." Adding the foreground greenery gives the image depth and gives scale to the mountains. |

I really don't remember if there was a blue cast. But that would be pretty easy to minimize. It's amazing how many important details I miss - that's why groups like this are so helpful. |

Yes, Kerstin, the tighter crop is better. Thanks. |

Very nice. You're right about the colors in the upper right of the view through the window. B&W minimizes that problem. Thanks. |

Perfect exposure. I like your crop as well as Carole's. And yes, David, one could stop and daydream here quite easily. The right angles of the entranceway are sort of echoed in the nice straight tree trunks. Good job. |

Wow, this image certainly generated a lot of dialogue! I like Kerstin's "mirror image" idea. Yes, David, the spider webs could be sharper, but it's not bad for handheld. I agree with you about the nice background. Sorry Barbara, but the original composition has the fence leading right to the subject' the fence post keeps the eye from sliding right off the image. Perhaps you could darken it a little to make the fence look more like wrought iron? |
