Yes, I used 28mm. I use the zoom to compose, and rarely pay attention to the focal length. I had to look it up. |

You're right, Barbara. Those hot spots on the floor should be tamed down. I was in too much of a hurry - my husband calls me "Schusslich". Kerstin, check my spelling please. |

A 34 second exposure! No wonder the water has such a dreamy quality. My husband said it has no center of interest; but I think the bridge and the pilings lead to an imagined land just over the horizon. |

That black object bottom center is distracting. It can't be cropped because that would ruin the nicely curved wave line. Perhaps it is a black rock that could not easily be removed. In that case, moving left or right may have put it out of sight. I tried to remove it in Photo Shop (not very successfully). I also darkened the midtones in Levels to crisp up the highlights and enrich the colors. Nice interpretation of "Leading Lines". |

This image makes the viewer want to follow right into the cave, perfect for the subject. I, too think it should be darker. I find shadows & highlights sliders to be very sensitive. I prefer using levels. Curves are good too, if you know how to use them. You handled the harsh overhead light well. |

Perfect subject for B&W. These country bridges make for very compelling images. I would have wanted a little more depth of field - but that is personal preference. I am learning how much preferences vary from person to person. See my comment to Carole about a friend who does not realize he is over-processing. |

This looks like a motocross road. I'd like to see a little more contrast in the trees, but that is personal preference. Speaking of personal preference - a friend showed us a photo of a beautiful red barn. But he had saturated the colors to the point of losing detail. There are halos around all the details. He is so proud of learning to use Elements that I don't want to discourage him. But if nobody tells him, he won't know he's making mistakes. Help! |
