Gavin, I saw the vertical of the area you blew up. Efforts to make a nice composition from it have failed, however. Then I tried replacing the sky with dark storm clouds - that didn't work either, too many tree branches. But there are lots of possibilities at this scene. Can you still get back there and play? You got great texture and detail in the whatever-it-is. |

Barbara, love the contrast between the fresh green vine and the dingy background. This looked like a painting, so I played with Topaz Impressions. I wanted to emphasize the 'grunge' look of the background. Maybe I should have masked the leaves to keep them natural-looking. |

I like Carole's crop, but wouldn't have thought of it myself. It's a beautiful garden; one wants to walk along the path and perhaps scoop up a handful of those lovely pink petals. |

Kerstin, you did a beautiful job with the sidelight. Often the bright side is overwhelming, and the dark side way too dark. Yes, there are many images here, and I hope you were able to get some of them. One wonders what the story was because so many things were left behind. |

Walter, I love it. If you only knew how many old cords we have stuck in the rafters of the cellar. You show a lot of imagination with your interpretation of the subject. |

The red doesn't bother me. Infact, my eye seems to go right to the stamen, up to the red, then along the green diagonal back to the stamen. What I like is the intersecting diagonals. Hand held, hmmm? Pretty impressive. I have a 28-300 Tamron, and love it. |

That's nice too. Didn't know this image had so much potential in composition! Love those NIK filters. |

Wow! That's a great crop. I always have trouble deciding what to keep and what to toss when taking a photo. And with digital, that is no big deal - it caosts no more to take 100 versions as 1. |

Cropping is good. I heard a speaker say that an image should be a sentence, not a paragraph. I should keep that in mind.
