Good Morning Bob,
I like the balance of the image with the massive elevators but pushed off to the right to give the space on the left and the feeling of the dark colored road pushing my eye from right to left. To my eye, the image lacks pop. One possibility would be to increase the white of the elevators. at first I thought that the white balance was off but as I look at the small building to the left it is quite a bit whiter so the elevators likely have a more tan color. That being said, I think that if you made them have more white, it would increase the tonal separation with the sky and bring them forward. The other consideration would be do you want the elevators leaning back to make them appear taller or straighten out the leaning back?

Good Morning Larry,
I feel like you captured the essence of the environment with the clouds, strong diagonal of the mountain snow and evergreens. I think that all those elements give a feeling of energy. I think that the snow in the foreground is too grey and there feels like a graduate filter was added to the left side coming across to just past the second big tree from the left. Maybe that was not done, it just feels that way. On my submitted image, I added a graduated filter from the bottom in Lightroom, kept the same exposure but increased the white. I added a second graduate filter from the left side to just a little past the second big tree from the left. i understand if you do not want anything competing with the white on the mountain. Just another thought. |

Good Morning Paul,
Very nice image! The first thing that jumped out at me was the feeling that this was an old semaphore flag ( I realize that semaphore flags were cut in a diagonal). The idea of having an old communications system with a big dish antenna on the ridge behind is great. I also agree with you about the reflection. I do see a vertical light area just in front of the flag pole from the level of the land to the top of the pole which looks like you removed something |
