Barbara, I, too, dried out some red roses. I think they are still beautiful and perhaps teach us that even old and used up things and people can be beautiful. |

I like the light coming in from the side. It brings out the texture of the wood. The shadows on the left and below the door gives the picture dimension. The placement of the door avoids placing it in the middle; therefore, I would consider the space on the right as negative space with interesting shadows. I like that you did not straighten the picture as I think it is more interesting with the lines sloping down. |

Harriet, you did an excellent job in post. You probably should crop in from the right as Norm suggested. The post would frame Pearl and my eyes would not be tempted to look beyond the main character. She is beautiful and I agree that monochrome suits her better. Also, she would fill the frame better. |

The bird's background is sparse enough not to be distracting and as Barbara mentioned, the green complements. The branch on which he sits is at a diagonal which is more interesting and also serves as a leading line. Kudos for catching him actually singing and in his natural habitat. |

I love this image. I wish I could have been there. In my opinion, you framed it just right. My eyes go to the United States smaller balloon on the crash spot of the Rule of Thirds. All of the colors are vibrant against the dark blue sky. The crowd of people on the ground anchor my eyes. It is even more amazing because of the low light and the fact that it was hand-held.
There is some slight distortion because of the wide angle. I don't know if this can be corrected. |

Wow! This is a great picture. I, too, am curious as to how you could get that close with only a 100mm lens. Maybe this was close to your windows. Regardless, great detail, good angle so that his legs and claws could be seen. And you were able to photograph him with his wings unfurled. Wonderful wild-life photo. |

Andrew, This is a good composite image. I think you have a beautiful sky as background and the yellow train has additional impact. It does not bother me that you don't have a horizon. Like Jessica mentioned, the train could be at the edge of a cliff and if so, you would not see any horizon. There is a lot of digital noise on the train. I might suggest Topaz DeNoise or Define in NIK. I agree with Cindy. I think the small image of the train has a more interesting angle. |

Jessica, I did not know that the magnolia bloom comes in different colors. I have only seen it in white. The pink bud is so soft and beautiful. It is such a shame that the tip of of the left petal is missing. I would suggest following Cindy's advice on this. |

Bob, how creative. I like the vibrant colors. This abstract image has impact because of the colors and random placement of the "moons." Are these water drops on the CD? Please explain this. Nowhere in your description of what you did is water drops mentioned. It was just mentioned in your reply to Cindy. |

Cindy, I like that the butterfly fills up almost the entire frame. The small flowers balance the composition. I do think the image is a little too dark especially at the top of the butterfly's wings. |

Nelson, you are an artist and the best part is that you were just playing around. |
