I think Minnesota is a beautiful state and so diverse. My visit was for only two weeks but I enjoyed every minute. |

Very good portrait of the loon. I did not know that they had red eyes -- maybe depending on the light? The loons I took in September showed very dark eyes. Does that mean the light was not hitting their eyes?
I liked the pose, the crop, the colors of the water, sky reflections and the small waves surrounding this bird. I would not change a thing. |

What an unusual nature photo. The chicks appear to be posing for you. I like Norm's suggestion to perhaps convert the photo to b & w. I would also add a small vignette to keep my eyes on the very sharp chicks. |

Thank you, Norm. I did try LR and PS to remove the spots but there were too many and they still showed up especially in the sky. Topaz simplify seemed to eliminate the spots but it also eliminated much of the detail in the shadows. I guess it did what the title claimed to do -- it simplified. Maybe I will try to eliminate the spots some more. |

The colors and reflections are glorious. I would have wanted to see a little more to the right of the rock. |

I am seeing the world through all of our photographer's pictures. I have not traveled much, so it is exciting!
Monochrome suits this historical subject and including the carving of Kipling looking on makes the picture more memorable. You could crop a little of the brush behind the carving but I think the carving would be too close to the edge. As presently composed, the golden spiral overlay fits perfectly around the carving. The tall hedge on the right of the picture appears to me as pointing to the house. I like the picture as it is.

Cindy, I left you for last because I kept wondering what made what appears to be some sort of "halo" on the side of his head. It could be the other side of the owl's head (also white) that is shown. In my opinion the design on top of the wings appear as encrusted jewels on top of the owl's feathers. The one large black eye staring back adds even more impact. Beautiful image! |

I like the simple shape, angle and color of the leaves of this Japanese Maple. Removed what I think were decorative but distracting elements. Used Topaz DeNoise to reduce the noise. Kept the corner leaf to show context and balance the photo. |

I like the abstract design the grapefruit juice "cells" make. Would have liked to have seen more of the turquoise "center." It also appears to have interesting detail. |

Nelson, I liked what you did with this flower and the background. I examined your original photo and you "fixed" this flower so my eyes would only rest on the flower, and not wander on to another bloom. I know it's a matter of taste, but I would add a stem. Looking at the original photo, I think you would almost have to "create" one. However, an artist like you can do it! |

You could blend some other color in the blown areas as Bob suggested, but I first thought the blown areas were part of the pattern. I like the detail on the foreground leaves. Cindy's suggestion to try monochrome on this image might help the blown out areas even more. I commend you on noticing the pattern while traveling. |

I like how your composition keeps my eyes going around your picture. It first goes down the branch to the larger bunch of leaves and the leaf hanging down takes you down and around to the smaller bunch of leaves. The lighting shining through the leaves shows the detail of the leaves and your background is nicely blurred. As always, nice job! |
