Great picture of a beautiful bird. I am surprised he was alone. Here in Texas they usually come in flocks and completely eat every berry on the tree in a minute or two. Beautiful capture.
The small blurred berry in the background does not bother me but I agree with Harriet's suggestion on the top right leaf. |

Wow! I have taken pictures of loons, but have never been able to take one that close. I like the strength of your photo, the angle and details. I don't have any suggestions. |

Harriet, I think I like the original picture better. In my opinion, it appears very sharp showing a lot more detail and the colors are beautiful. I admit I don't know how to use Snapseed, but maybe another treatment would preserve the details and colors better. |

I like your photo of your alpacas especially the front one that seems attentive to what is going on. The pasture with the yellow flowers as background lends interest to the picture. I agree with Harriet's suggestion that you might want to tone down the dark spots on the alpaca in the foreground. |

I like the colors of the surrounding petals framing the middle of the flower with the bee. The inner center of the flower seems to be a little soft. If you were hand-holding the camera, would a higher shutter speed and ISO have allowed you to get the bee and inner center sharper? At f/22 it seems like your depth of field would be deeper. Please tell me what you think. I am trying to learn. |

Thank you, Cindy. I will try to do this in my original raw capture. By the way, I thought the blown highlights was pollen, but I can see that it would be distracting. |

Nelson, this is a beautiful flower and you captured its beauty. What is the name of the flower? Focus stacking in the camera is the way to go. My camera does not do it. I wish it did. |

I looked at your image again and I would add that I liked that space you left around your flower. |

I am sorry I have been so late in coming back to these images. I agree with Cindy's suggestions on converting the image to monochrome. If you did not want to convert it to monochrome, just the cropping on top would really help. |

Andrew, very creative. I would consider converting the image to monochrome as I think the blue sand distracts the focus from the main image which is your sand dollar. To my eyes, the rear of the sand dollar appears to be a little soft. This might be a subject well suited for focus stacking. |

Mary, I also liked the end product. I'm not sure I know how to use the color fill layer and blend mode to produce such excellent results. I will definitely experiment with it.
I think Cindy's suggestion is a good one, although I would have a hard time cropping the left leaf and still leave the right one. I would try to darken it to the same darker green behind it. I always learn something from these study groups. Thank you!

I love your soft background to your Bloomin Onion. The placement of the flowers is very creative and makes the image even more interesting. The main open flower has dimension and the colors of all the buds and the open flower harmonize with the soft and dreamy background.
On my monitor the light stamen(?)of the main flower is a little distracting since the rest are darker and sharp. |

I think your choice of monochrome is better with this image. The drops show up more and the image has more impact. Most of the time, I think reflections should be whole, but in this case, it, too, would have distracted from the flower. Good job, Cindy! |
