This meadow is right next to a National Forest so I suspect someone leases the land and uses it for their horses. |

I realized that could be as I was trying to take a pic myself and couldn't get my fence straight at the same time as my subject. I could not help trying to straighten up lines. It comes from my accounting background. |

I like old relics also. I noticed where the price of the gas was 4 9/10 per gallon. Was that ever the case?
I like the color version and the crop better. The pump is in a better position in the picture. If it were me, I would crop the rocks in front making the pump even more important. Great find! |

I like the tension between the tall skycraper and the elevated rails. I loved that the speeding train was red, making sure I would not miss it. I would not change a thing. |

I think this is a lovely island and I can see why you would want to capture all its beauty. I, too, would crop just where the rays touch the clouds. Although I think the clouds are also spectacular, they do take away from the glorious rays. I would even dare to crop the boulders at the bottom so that my eyes would settle on the reflection on the water. I would sit on the boulders contemplating such beauty. The leading line of the shore would take me right to the sun's rays. |

I love natural landscape and this is definitely one of them. The lake does reflect the mountains above and the title of this picture and angle which you took the picture is perfect. To be picky I would crop the little slivers of rock at the bottom of the picture. |

Harriet, I love roosters. They remind me of my childhood.
I like the position Rocky stands capturing the curve of his body. The sloping fence was distracting to me so I straightened it in Photoshop. I don't know if Snap Seed lets you do it. If it does, do it before adding a frame. |

I have never been fortunate to come across this kind of fence at the beach. I've looked for one because I think the fence pickets and the mounds of sand with wild grass make a great photo. Because the photo is about the fence I also think the sky should be cropped somewhat to give the fence more importance. It works well as a monochrome photo. |

I took another look at your shot, and it does look like your necklace is floating! I like that. |

I like all the colors -- the background and the colors of the milkweed as well as the butterfly. I think your crop and composition are perfect. I would clone the leaf above the head of the butterfly as well as the small leaf at the left bottom of the image as Laurie suggested.
Lightroom makes it very easy to export the images at the right resolution. |

The reflections on the wine glass would not bother me if it did not reflect a person. I would add some more space at the bottom so that you can see where the glass is standing. I would also clone out the wine glass at the back of the bottles. |

The flamingo's head and neck are very sharp. It does look like you took the picture from behind glass or your lens got wet. I would clone the spots and clone the green down to the bottom of the picture. |

I like the lines of the leaves especially as they to the top. The red stalk of the flower contrast well with the greens of the leaves. I would lighten the picture a little. |

Thank you, Janis. I did not know what these butterflies were called. They are beautiful in an understated way.
I would crop a little from the bottom and try to darken the background a little with perhaps a curve adjustment.

Laurie, I understand how frustrating it is. I think we all do because we have been there. I am assuming the tripod held your camera above the necklace at the settings you listed and at the same angle the necklace was on top of the glass. There is a switch on my Sony 90mm macro lens that says full/0.5m-0.28m. Try both. If that doesn't work elevate your camera higher (focus distance). Someone also suggested to check my diopter. And it had moved!!!!
Of course if the subject doesn't move like your necklace, you might want to try focus stacking.
All of this said, I don't think your picture is a "hot mess."

I'm not sure how this happened. I checked with the raw image and it had two shadows also. Maybe someone in the group will know. |
