The image is dizzying, and I can image the bustle of this scene during the day. The night makes the colorful lights stand up more. It is a beautiful scene even though it appears to have wide angle distortion. I would like to see it after you correct the distortion. |

I love an image that invokes feelings and your photo does. The dark treatment, shabby interiors, the stairs going somewhere, the dim lighting and the broken glass would inspire a story even if I did not know where you had taken the picture. Very good picture.
As an immigrant, I am glad I came at a later time and was not confined and isolated waiting to be admitted. |

Stan, In my opinion, you have captured all the elements of good design in this photo. The lines, colors, shapes and scale of this grand hotel present to my eyes a well balanced and unified image inviting me to discover drama within the frame. I no longer travel, but your travel photos show me what I have missed. |

What a lovely bird and capture. The colors and patterns are glorious. I agree with John, the square crop suits the image. That something over his head is a little distracting until you figure out what it is. I don't know how you can make it stand out more so it doesn't blend against the back feathers. Other than that, I think the picture is great.
My only question: Is Penelope as beautiful as Pierre? |

What a beautiful and peaceful scene, and one that years later you can revisit via your photo. That is another reason I love photography -- The photographer can make time stand still.
I like the centered composition. The dark part of the lake point to the center and the triangular shadow of the lake mimic the hill above it -- even the boulders seem to point to the center. The landscape is sharp with the hedge fences and animals delineated clearly, and the colors harmonize. Per its definition, the neutral density filter would allow the water to have a smooth silky look. It might be something you would like. In my opinion, the lake appears calm enough. I will make a note of using a ND filter if I am ever before such a scene and I will try to remember to use it.

The color of the beautiful flowers against the cactus spines have so much impact. I like your edit. |

I like the color of the beetles against the cana leaf. I would repeat Cindy's advice to clone the spots on the leaf if it was not a nature pic. I also thought it would be a little more interesting to change the orientation of those beautiful beetles. |

Very nice, Nelson. My eyes go around the plate examining the food. There are no distracting elements. I would order this. |

Butterflies are beautiful. This one matches the flower and it's petals. The background showcases both the butterfly and the flower. Lovely, Cindy. I would not change a thing. |

I like the expression of the dragonfly and it's color. I also like that you shot the dragonfly at the top of the cana leaf. The background is lovely. I guess the blown highlights that you mention might be the edge of the leaf as it makes a line towards the dragonfly. It doesn't bother me, but you might want to darken it a bit. I do prefer Laurie's crop.

Yes, I used a tripod. The background was the wall of our house. I like the flower, but I even tried using other plain backgrounds but the color of the flower is difficult. |
