I have to agree with the others that this image is confusing with the shiny body and old corroded handlebars and bell. It almost seems as if someone added that old handlebar to a newer tricycle. Strange. So changing it to monochrome definitely helps, but I took it into Nik Analog Efex to see if I could make it even "older" as well.
First, in Lightroom I used your color image and brought down the saturation and highlights. Then in Nik I went into their Vintage presets and chose one called Old English. I didn't make any changes to it, just left the default. Not sure if that really helped make the handlebars and body more cohesive or not, but I added the example.
I can understand why you were drawn to shoot it, but it is kind of odd to look at! |

This looks like a wonderful old folk art painting on wood. All of your choices for the added elements, composition, and editing really brought this pastoral image to life. I love the result! |

This is beautiful Mary. I love that you left the plant in on the lower right. It adds a nice touch of life that reminds me that I'm looking at a landscape and not just beautiful abstract colors.
You did a great job with your edits. |

Bright, bold abstract Georgianne. The addition of the butterfly was a great idea. It gives your eye a place to rest within all of the bold colors. I also wanted to see the butterfly bigger, so I like the edits Jan suggested as well.
Very creative! |

How wonderful that you got to travel to Iceland. This scene is lovely with beautiful lighting. Your edits to the overall color temperature makes it even more tranquil to my eyes.
I also feel a tighter crop from the right would better take your eye down the path and towards the house. Plus removing the white house and pole would enhance the feeling of isolation, which I find appealing although I'm not sure that aligns with your vision. So like Jan, just a bit of a different interpretation. I used the AI remove tool in Lightroom to take out the house, but it added in some trees, LOL. I left them there. Also, I went into the transform section of Lightroom and changed the aspect ratio to narrow the image a little VS cropping it to a more narrow view. That elongated the path somewhat and narrowed the width of the house a bit, but I was curious to see the outcome. And I cooled the temperature down just a bit more.
Nicely seen and captured! |
