Thanks for the feedback Carol! Flipping the key sounds like a great idea. |

Thanks for your feedback Georgi. So to me, it sounds like your saying I should have stood back a little farther to minimize the size giving the image a wider and deeper view?
I was planning on reshooting this as I practice my light painting, so I'll see what I think about that image as well. |

Rita, I like the concept of this image and the ICM movement as well. However it feels really busy to me and the brightness of the path makes me lose the sense of walking into the forest. Plus the bright yellow tree kind of off-center to the right, really catches my eye. I assume that was sun hitting a tree trunk, but it detracts from the feeling of going deep into the forest. I feel like I'm stopping at that tree. I think your May image is stronger in my opinion.
And congratulations on your first place award! Well deserved for that photo. |

This is an interesting image Jan. I love the color palette used. The horizontal streaks make me feel like the wind is blowing through the scene. The bird with nesting material seems to be making a statement that he/she's building a home while watching the other birds in the distance still seeking their spot.
I agree with Georgi that making the trees more clear in the background would add to this image. It would more strongly tell the story I see at least, LOL.
Nice use of all of the different elements you chose. |

I like this composition and angle of view Connie. Your sky replacement also adds leading lines drawing you into the image. I also feel the dark streaks seem like smoke left from the firing of cannons.
It almost appears that a live person is here rather than a statue. To add to a bit more "live" illusion, I cloned in some of the dirt over the little bit of platform under his left foot to try and add some more realism to this being a person. I also opened up the shadows just a bit, to show a little more detail in his uniform. Just a fun play with this image.
I think you did a really nice job capturing the feeling of this scene.

This is a very picturesque town and must have been fun to visit and photograph. Your editing gives this image the look of an old film photograph, which I like. I can see this tucked into a photo album with paper pages and the little white holders (not sure what they were called) on each of the corners. That is what this image evokes in me.
I enjoyed looking at it! |
