Thanks Jan! I considered black and white as well, but was in the mood for color. Thanks for sending your example! |

Rita, I like your bold interpretation of this view of the forest. I think the perspective and upward lines give one a sense of a towering forest, even though the "floor" is what you're focusing on. I don't think there is anything I could suggest to improve this image because I think it is well composed and the ICM seems to be just enough that it makes this forest interesting to view. I also like the bold colors. They are balanced within the overall image in my opinion. |

This is an interesting abstract Jan. Like you, I love to play so I'm glad you shared this result.
There is a natural color palette that I like, the blues, rusty oranges, browns, reds, etc. and I like the way you've layered them. The thin lines from the flowers and stems definitely add to the "distraction" in this image. If I was looking for an abstract to hang on my wall I think I would like it much better if the flower image was not included. I think this would look like a grand, abstract landscape without the flower bits in it. But you were trying to drive us to distraction through your abstraction right, LOL. So that is the impact I feel when looking at this. You achieved your objective! |

This abstract image really appeals to me Mary. I love the smooth, flowing motion and the fact that you have a sense that this is a subject from nature, but not a strict interpretation. Very nice work with the ICM in my opinion. |

I think this is a lovely image with the soft, dreamy edits you've made. The composition with the flowers at an angle works really well.
Like Jan, I think I would like the tips of the closer, out-of-focus petals to be more in focus, but sometimes that is challenging to do depending on your lens and your angle of view. But this is still a nicely done image! |

I really like your concept and composition of a singular orange with negative space. I do agree with Jan that a closer crop and additional processing could take this image to another level. To me, it appears you have cut a hole in a piece of cloth and set the orange into the hole. The dark line around the right edge of the plate gives me the feeling of a shadow for a raised edge of the background, and not that there is a plate under the orange. But that's kind of interesting as well!
I think Jan gave good feedback to consider. |

I really like what you've done with this image Carol. The flower being in the "box" definitely draws you in. The original shows excellent control of your lighting and reflections on the glass bottle and the composition is wonderful.
I'm wondering if it would add anything if you had the left top/side with a line going down at the same angle as the bottom, to follow the perspective of the box; rather than a straight cut entirely across the top? Just curious if you had tried that, but regardless, I love this! |
