This is a tough image to work with in my opinion. I see why you were attracted to it, but the strong blobs of bright light behind it blow out so much interesting detail. Since you took it to the dark side, you still lose detail and separation from the background. I like Carol's suggestion to go lighter while trying to reduce the brightness of the white blobs of light.
However, I also might have really worked on my angle of view prior to pressing the shutter button. Was there any possible way you could have reframed this to remove the bright spots? Sometimes, in the excitement of seeing something you like, it's easy to forget to work the composition a bit more before taking the shot. :) At least I find myself sometimes doing that, LOL. |

The composition you've captured of this interesting scene is well done Michael. Your post-processing does take this to a different level and I really like it. It makes me feel as if I am day dreaming about my visit to this village.
Very nice! |

Nice capture of this ladybug against the highly textured background. I agree with the others that a different crop to move her out of the very bottom corner would improve the image. |

Very pretty flowers and clever way to make a cover for the book. I agree with the other comments concerning darkening or replacing the background with a texture. That would help pop the flowers and also reduce the busy lines from all of the foliage.
Such a nice gesture for your neighbor! |

This is a very unique take on this image. The composition and colors work really well together in my opinion. I like how the background has a cubism effect, yet the deer maintains it's painterly realism.
I also like the suggestion of darkening the background more, so that the deer stands out better. I can see viewers stopping and really appreciating looking at your image.

I love the composition of this beautiful subject. The short, clear bottle with the long leaves and stem of this tulip are a nice contrast. The textures you've chosen bring out the petal details nicely and blurs the lines between a photograph and a painting.
For me, I'm not sure the splatters of purple add anything to this image, but you've created a very nice work of art in my opinion. |

Witta, I love what you've done with this image. Flipping it to have more drops at the top, dwindling away at the bottom, gives a different feel to this photo. And the off-center crop makes it much more interesting in my opinion. Thank you for this example. |
