I like the black and white too!. I tried converting it in Lightroom and it really didn't seem as detailed as your version. How did you do the conversion? |

Mary, I think this is a wonderful, other-worldly image. I like the composition and angle of view you used. The trees are just fantastic. I don't have a clue about the techniques people use to capture the Milky Way, but you did a nice job in my opinion.
For me, the image feels a little too bright. I took the liberty of editing your image in Lightroom to play with some thoughts I had.
I decreased the overall exposure and highlights on the image. I then applied a mask to the sky only and adjusted the exposure again but also adjusted the black points to make the sky just a tad bit darker. I've attached the edited version as food for thought.

I agree with everything others have said about reducing the amount of texture on the flower. I really like the composition and texture you chose for the background. This is a beautiful image Michael. |

I feel this is a great example of graphic art. You did a really nice job balancing the various sizes on the layers! So much patience!
I agree that it might be fun to play around with different backgrounds, but the black really makes the yellow stand out. So if that was your goal, you succeeded! Like others, I see this on a card as well. Really nice Connie. |

I like the composition and subject matter very much. The painterly quality enhances this image nicely.
I like the fact that the sky draws you into the buildings, but do think it is a bit busy. I wonder how this would look with a sky that has less clouds? Using your original image, I threw one on here as an example, not that it's the end all, be all. :) |

I really enjoy this image. The texture added to the hair through your post-processing makes me want to reach out and touch it. Converting to black and white makes a great impact.
I also like how the light clearly moves across this cow from left to right, with just the right amount of shadow giving a nice dimension to the horns and wonderfully shaggy coat. |

I love this image Linda. Your processing choices make this a very soft, pleasing image to look at. I also like the leaves at the bottom of the stem as I do feel it grounds the flower in the image. Your background has very subtle pops of color that compliments the flower petals really well.
To me, the bits of foliage on the bottom left add another layer to the dreamy environment this flower resides in. So I personally, like everything the way it is. |
