Thanks for your feedback Witta. So many ideas to go back and play with. I appreciate your comments. I did feel like since the starburst was shooting out stars it needed to be in the background. But I also wanted it clear that the other stars were emanating from it. So more playing to do! |

I will play around with the definition of the starburst. I think I could spend a lot more time trying different things with this concept. Thanks for your feedback!

I also like all of the images. I do feel that adding the "sun" with the bright yellow behind the flower, makes it stand out nicely. It makes me feel like it is being elevated by the light. Maybe it could be toned down a bit, but I like the effect. |

What a beautiful location you captured Mary. I seems the question some people are asking is how do you turn a nice landscape into "fine art"? Well, I think not only is it about capturing great light, contrast, shadows, etc., but evoking an emotion when you look at the landscape. Did your photo express the feeling you had when you stopped to view this dreamy, foggy, hazy location? Did others feel that too? I think that is one important aspect of fine art photography no matter what the subject matter. |

Your image is just lovely Connie. It has a 3 dimensional quality that really appeals to me. I also like the examples of others playing with the image. However your composition and lighting are very nice and I can see this as a beautiful card. |

Great action capture of these two birds. For me, I think you could really add to the drama by making a much more severe crop. The story is in the attempt to steal the meal. I think a crop similar to the sample I've attached would focus on the story and might make you feel differently about the water being a distraction.
However, at what point does this move from documentary to fine art? So similar to what you did, adding some textures or different color that enhances the drama of the scene or stylizing the birds in some way would help. I didn't do that in my example, LOL. |

Hi Michael! Your trip sounds wonderful! I do like the subject matter of eggs, but I'm on the fence about the fine art merits of this photo. It looks well taken as a documentary shot, but I don't "feel" anything when looking at it. Maybe if there was an interesting hand reaching to pick an egg up, or as someone else suggested, a feather, a chick hatching, an egg with a very different color, etc. Something to add a bit more of a story. That's what I think is missing here. But well shot. |
