Thanks for your more focused "portrait" example Linda. I liked trying to incorporate the environment but still capturing her peaceful expression. I've added a different crop based on your suggestion. I left in a little more of the background, and used the rule of thirds to keep her eye somewhat centered and have an intersecting point in the middle of her snout. |

Thanks for your feedback Connie. It's a tricky balance when playing with the smudge. :) |

Thanks for your suggestions and example Witta. Your edits take this photo in a dreamier direction than my original intent, but I see your point. Appreciate the suggestion and ideas! |

You nailed this image IMHO. The composition brings out the flower really well. The colors and muted bokeh of the background makes the flower really stand out. You brightened it up just the right amount IMHO.
Very nice job! |

What a very creative image. I love it. I'm partial to yellow bringing a happy feeling to the image, but I do think either border works well.
Great idea that was very well executed! |

Wow. This is a captivating image. So peaceful and beautiful with the rays of light coming through the clouds. Really great composition with the interplay of clouds and sky curving across the image.
I also feel you could crop a little more off the bottom to elongate the expanse of mountains just a tad more. I don't think you need that much road to help the viewer feel the expanse of the view. I've added a crop suggestion as food for thought. I took just a bit from the top and a little from the bottom. It still leaves some road in if you feel it's an important element of the image. |

I think this is a great composition and really like the background effects you achieved with the sparkly netting. The colors work so well together. I also feel you are spot on with adding the "reflection", and do like the original one you added. I like how it's different and somewhat abstract. It is pleasing to my eye and isn't trying to make me believe something that is not true; that the flowers are laying in a pool of water for instance, or on a mirror attempting to get an exact duplicate of the flowers. I don't really know what kind of reflective surface the flowers are on, but my brain likes it! |

This is so creative and well executed! I have also taken a class with Lisa Langell and look forward to more. I really appreciate how she, and now you, can photograph ordinary objects and make them into extraordinary abstract images.
I also like your additional image that goes the extra mile to make a work of art hanging in an interesting environment. Very nicely done! |
