Thanks for your comments Bill! I actually like the slight color gradation going through from the left top. On my monitor it didn't particularly stand out to me. I'll take a second look though. |

Thank you so much Carol. There is a local contest that has a call for entries and I actually was considering this. I may check out the PSA contests as well. I am really happy with this photo, and I think I might just put it out there. :) |

Gorgeous capture Jennifer. The composition does make this look like one giant Iris. You've rendered the colors beautifully and the background compliments the flower nicely. The way the petals are folding in on themselves really keeps your eye on the flower. I, personally, like the vignette you added as well. Some might think it's a little heavy, but I actually like how it framed this bright beautiful flower. Great job. |

This is a mystery plant for sure! Nicely composed shot and good detail. I agree that the color of the background does make this plant stand out. You did a good job of documenting this find. The top yellow portion of the frame does seem a tad bright, but the subject matter is so unusual it still keeps you staring at it! |

Love this photo Bill. The colors and type of flower remind me of flower arrangements you might see in an old Victorian home. The black background with the soft green leaves and the great colors and detail of the peony really make this photo special.

Nice job getting this dragonfly. I like that the wings are back lit and the focus on their edges is a little soft, but there is so much detail on the head and body. The background has great color and blur to complement the red of the dragonfly. If you use Lightroom you should be able to easily darken the fence using an adjustment brush and trying different sliders, like reducing your exposure, highlights, or even lowering your whites, to see how that looks. You could probably take out that white glare spot on top of the eye as well. Really nice job overall. |

Very pretty capture and solid composition. I like that the petals have almost a leathery texture to them and you can really see the detail. I wonder how this would look with the highlights toned down just a tad bit. The bottom quarter of the front petal is where I think the highlights could be brought down some. Also, if the back leaf (that's almost yellow) were darkened a little it might help keep the focus on that beautiful flower. I also might try taking out the stem that's running from the left side of the frame going behind the flower. Less distraction from your beautiful centerpiece. |

A lovely flower shot Carol. Well composed to keep your focus smack on the flower. The colors are just rich enough with a nice blurred background. I agree with Bob that I might have gone just a tad darker on the background to help the flower pop a bit more. But the current background does not detract at all, just a personal preference thing! |

Thank you Bob. Something about the matte finish brought out a nice richness to this photo. Appreciate your kind words! |

Thank you Bill! The swirling of the petals, and the colors, are what really caught my eye as well. I tried to focus in a manner that allowed the swirls to draw the viewer in. I hope I succeeded. |
